My daughter loved the full-color illustrations on every page, they really helped her follow along with the story. It's a nice introduction to history for a beginner reader, and the sentences are short enough for her to sound out on her own.

My son just finished his first book report on this, and the sentences were short enough for him to read on his own. The way it connects his life story with simple words keeps a new reader interested without getting frustrated.
