美国家长评选金牌奖《伟大的一步》：尼尔·阿姆斯特朗 A Great Step: Neil Armstrong

My son keeps asking to read about Neil Armstrong's childhood every night, and I love how the book shows his mother's gentle support through each step. The watercolor illustrations really bring the 1960s space race to life for a young reader.

My six-year-old asked why the moon looks different each night, and this book turned that into a real conversation about Armstrong's childhood dream and his mom's quiet support. The 1999 Parents' Choice Gold Award is earned—the illustrations and story flow beautifully, and it's become our nightly pic

The pacing is perfect for bedtime—short enough to hold attention, but the part about his mom's quiet encouragement still got me choked up. My kid now points at the moon and says "that's where Neil walked," which feels like the whole point of a biography like this.
