I’ve been trying to find a good ivory black for months, and this tube is a perfect consistency right out of the box—not too stiff or runny. The walnut oil blends smoothly with it, and the canvas surfac takes the paint beautifully. A solid set for anyone who actually mixes their own grays.

The palette knife is surprisingly sturdy for its size, and the Ivory Black spreads like butter on that canvas surface. Payne’s Grey came out a touch thicker than I expected, but it’s perfect for mixing subtle shadows.

The walnut oil mixes beautifully with the paints, giving them a smooth, buttery consistency that glides on the canvas. The palette knife is a nice bonus for mixing and applying thick layers.
