I’ve been reading this to my kids every night and they’re already chanting along with the hen’s refrain in Spanish. The way the story turns a tiny seed into bread feels so hands-on, and the book’s sturdy pages have survived some serious toddler page-turning.

The illustrations by Kate Staler are so warm and detailed that my son keeps pointing out new things on every page. It flows naturally as a read-aloud, and the repetition in the Spanish text helps reinforce vocabulary. We've already read it three times tonight.
