Isabella D. ★★★★★

Darynda Jones’s essay alone was worth the price, and the focus on openings gave me several concrete techniques to try on my stalled first page. I finally feel like I have a clear roadmap for that critical first chapter.

Hannah ★★★★★

I’ve been struggling with my first chapters for months, and the exercises on crafting a strong opening hook finally clicked for me. The pacing tips from the NYT bestselling author’s essay gave me a fresh way to think about tension right from line one.

Steven ★★★★★

I've already used a few of the tips from Scribbler's introduction to rewrite my first chapter's hook, and the feedback from my critique group was noticeably more positive this time. The exclusive essay from Darynda Jones is packed with practical, no-nonsense advice that really clicked for me.
